Anomaly - something unusual, irregular or abnormal.

Apparition - the visual appearance of a spiritual being.

Cold Spot - isolated areas characterized by a sudden drops of temperature in a haunted site.

Disembodied Voice - a voice of an entity that is audible by the human ear.

Electronic Voice Phenomenon or E.V.P. - inaudible ghost voices recorded on an electrical device, like a digital recorder. Found in “White Noise” below human vocal range.

Entity - a classification for a disembodied being, which may be a ghost, spirit, an elemental, or a demon.

Haunting - the repeated appearance of ghosts, spirits, or poltergeists.

Infrared light - is used in night vision equipment when there is insufficient visable light to see. Night Vision devices operate through a process involving the conversion of ambient light photons into electrons which are then amplified by a chemical and electrical process and then converted back into visible light. Infrared light sources can be used to augment the available ambient light for conversion by night vision devices, increasing in-the-dark visibility without actually using a visible light source.

Intelligent Haunting - an entity that is aware of the presence of humans and may be interactive.

Materialization - the brief physical appearance of an entity, seen as it is happening

Medium - a person who can communicate with the spirit world, sometimes called a sensitive.

Nikola Tesla - an electronics genius, whose early radio receivers picked up, organized, intelligent signals during a time when the only functioning radio transmitter was a Guglielmo Marconi’s. Tesla studied the phantom signals and speculated they might originate from one planet or even the spirit world. There were claims that Tesla invented a Telescope for the purpose of communicating with spirits or extraterrestrials.

ORB's - The argument about what an Orb is has been a huge issue in paranormal research. Many say that Orbs are merely dust, bugs or moisture reflections caused by the flash. Some also say that Orbs are spirit energy showing themselves to you. We may never all agree about what they really are? It has been suggested that Orbs of a more solid nature with bright light could be actually spirits forming, while those that are more undefined are caused by something natural. You be the judge.

Poltergeist - a rare form of haunting wherein random objects are moved, thrown and sounds & speech are produced by unseen entities, which seems to crave attention. They can be destructive and are never seen. They have the strength to move anything from a ping pong ball to furniture. Frequently a child or adolescent is at the center of this phenomena.

Residual Haunting - the replaying of psychic impressions - sights, sounds and smells - in a place where a traumatic or violent event has occurred. It is repeated over and over; the entity involved does not interact with onlookers.

Singapore Theory - The Theory that a paranormal investigator can use a trigger object (object from a time period the entity is to believed from) to trigger paranormal activity. Like using a civil war pistol in old fort or battlefield from the civil war era.
